JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Nov. 5, 2018) – Hospitalman Yaritza Rodriguez administers numbing eye drops to Marines Corps Cpl. Genevieve Aguirre, stationed at Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, in preparation for photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) eye surgery at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Ophthalmology Clinic. Rodriguez, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, says “This is a very satisfying job. Patients come in here and have trouble seeing and we provide services that improve their quality of life. Patients come back and we see the happiness that comes from having great eyesight and it just warms your heart.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
