Dorett Richard, a health system specialist and data analyst in the Quality Management Department, helped the command refine its effort to implement projects with the greatest impact by identifying areas for quality improvement. The two Lean Six Sigma projects she led improved communication between clinical areas and streamlined processes for procurement of simulation mannequins. As a co-coordinator for the inaugural Quality Symposium, she helped NMCP showcase its quality improvement efforts to participants and attendees throughout the region. In addition to registering participants and assisting with setting up poster displays at the Quality Symposium, she presented her own poster, detailing the Simulation Center’s process improvement project. This process improvement project helped NMCP medical care staff and physicians advance their simulation skills to improve patient care. Going above and beyond, Richard spearheaded the NMCP Wednesday’s Word Ministry that is televised throughout the command for patients and staff.
