Elizabeth Weinstein, a supervisory/lead audiology technician in the Occupational Audiology Department, assisted Navy Medicine East and the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center in assessing the Defense Occupational Environmental Health Readiness software for hearing conservation before release to the rest of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) enterprise. She completed five annual proficiency rounds for technicians within the Audiology Department. When Executive Medicine, Overseas Screening or Aviation Medicine have a concern or patient who needs to be seen, she immediately assists each and every customer without hesitation. As the subject matter expert, she mentors junior staff and corpsmen in occupational audiology. As a forerunner, she leads Navy Medicine’s hearing conservation productivity, personally recording the most hearing tests in Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology application across all of BUMED test sites. She diligently ensures all members are audiologically and operationally ready for deployments. Weinstein personally takes time with each patient to certify test results and educate them on hazardous noise.
