A racer runs past a row of military vehicles during the Kabul Satellite Turkey Chase 10K, Nov. 27, at Kabul International Airport. The race, which drew 106 racers from various coalition countries, was organized by Air Force Lt. Col. Eduardo Monarez, who normally runs the race back in Bethesda, Md. "It is a family tradition for us, every year, that we run the [race]," he said. Since he would miss the race this year, Monarez, of Bethesda, Md., reached out to race organizers stateside and suggested they have a satellite run in Kabul.
