April Bays displays the bracelet noting the day her son was killed in action, Nov. 11. Army Sgt. William Bayrs died during fighting in Afghanistaon in 2-17. Bays was living in Barstow when her sone was born. When he joined the Army, Wiilliam was stationed at Fort Campbel, Ky., with the infrantry. His mother now lives in Beaumont, Calif.
