The District of Columbia National Guard and the Association of the Oldest Inhabitants of D.C. host a ceremony to honor the 499 D.C. residents who gave the ultimate sacrifice during World War I and commemorate the centennial of Armistice Day, Nov. 11, 2018 at the D.C. War Memorial in Washington D.C. Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D.C.; Phil Mendelson, chairman, D.C. Council; Maj. Gen. William J. Walker, commanding general, D.C.
