Soldiers from 47th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, engage their first set of targets along an eight-mile course at McGregor Range, N.M., during a transition live-fire exercise Oct. 27. The soldiers were required to engage more than 20 targets along the course moving at 25 mph. “At first I was nervous because I didn’t want to mess-up, but when you get started and you’re in that mode it just flows and it’s automatic,” said Pfc. Marcus Ransome, a Richmond, Va., native and construction equipment repairer with B Company, 47th BSB. The transition live fire is part of the Network Integration Evaluation exercise that is testing a multitude of equipment and new technologies being considered by the Army for fielding.
