Sgt. Paul Evans, Marine Forces Europe Embarkation chief, releases the straps on U.S. Air Force pallets and netting at the Vaernes International Airport in Norway, Nov. 14. With assistance from Norwegian soldiers with the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program in Norway, the pallets would later be filled with 110 cold weather tents, space heaters and fuel cans to be flown to Erzurum, Turkey, via C-130, to help provide shelter and warmth to more than 1,000 Turkish citizens left homeless by recent earthquakes. Evans is from Bakersfield, Calif.
