U.S. Army Europe Commanding General Lt. Gen. Christopher Cavoli places the historic patch onto German Brig. Gen Hartmut Renkuniform during a patch ceremony welcoming Renk and Brig. Gen. Ellen Clark.
"We are here to welcome two people. I will start with Brig. Gen. Ellen Clark. Gen. Clark is the senior officer responsible for the Wiesbaden community and is the director of a number of U.S. Army Europe wide programs we have so it's a big job and she came here ready to go. Gen. Clark we welcome you," Cavoli said. "So now not a moment too soon, we will welcome Brig. Gen Hartmut Renk to U.S. Army Europe. Hartmut is no stranger to me, he was the deputy commanding of the German Army Training Command when I was lucky enough to be stationed in Grafenwoehr as his counter part for the U.S. force. Gen. Renk is an active, thoughtful and engaged partner with U.S. Army."
Renk has been serving as the Army Europe Chief of Staff since his arrival in late August."
