Soldiers from the 40th Military Police Company, 49th Military Police Brigade direct simulated casualties toward a decontamination containment area as part of their role to secure a notional collapsed building created from a simulated improvised nuclear device detonation during the 2011 Arizona Statewide/Vigilant Guard Exercise held Nov. 3-5. The 49th Military Police Brigade is preparing to assume the role as the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Region IX Homeland Response Force. It was the job of the Los Alamitos policemen to maintain order, direct exposed persons to decontamination, and ensure that first responders were able to do their job in a safe and secure manner.
