Marines with 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division, based out of Bessemer, Alabama, present the colors while world-renowned saxophonist Mike Phillips performs the national anthem at the Magic City Classic, in Birmingham, Alabama, Oct. 27, 2018. The Magic City Classic is a 77-year-old college football rivalry between Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University, the two largest historically black universities in the state. The Marine Corps participates in the rivalry to foster a positive relationship with the community and illustrate a parallel between the indelible fighting spirit of the Marines and the athletes who compete in the classic.
