    A bugler from The U.S. Army Band, "Pershing's Own," sounds "Taps" as part of military funeral honors with funeral escort for U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Chaturbhuj Gidwani in Section 71 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Oct. 23, 2018.

    Gidwani joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1973 and after 25 years of service, he retired as a Sergeant Major, having been awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Joint Service Achievement Medal. Afterwards, he joined the Federal Civil Service in 1974 where he started his career with the Department of Defense at the Naval Torpedo Station in Keyport, Washington. From 2001 to 2005, he started Hindu services at Camp Foster, Kadena Air Base, and the Naval Hospital, all in Okinawa, Japan. He retired in 2009 after 35 years with the Federal Civil Service.

    Gidwani passed away on Nov. 11, 2017 at the age of 79. His spouse, Bulbul Gidwani, received the U.S. flag from his service.
