U.S. Army Sgt. Bounma Chanthalangsy (center) collaborates with a Djiboutian Armed Forces mortar fire team on how to properly acquire an azimuth while setting up a mortar system in Ali Ouney, Djibouti, Oct. 26, 2011. The Djiboutian soldiers partnered with members of the U.S. Army Guard's 1st Battalion, 161st Field Artillery, to review the 60 mm and 81 mm mortar systems and practice skills such as placement of aiming poles, handling misfires and effectively mounting the mortar. Chanthalangsy is currently deployed as part of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa.
