WESTERN PACIFIC (Oct. 21, 2018) A Coast Guardsman of the U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment 107, embarked aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86), inspects and verifies the fish inventory in the catch log in the pilot house of a foreign fishing vessel during an Oceania Maritime Security Initiative (OMSI) boarding mission in the Western Pacific Oct. 21, 2018. The OMSI program is a Secretary of Defense program leveraging Department of Defense assets transiting the region to increase the Coast Guard’s maritime domain awareness, ultimately supporting its maritime law enforcement operations in Oceania.
