Maj. Laura Steele, directorate of Emergency Services at the 81st RSC, signs the pledge to be drug free during Red Ribbon Week at Fort Jackson, S.C. Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of Americans during the last week of October every year. By wearing red ribbons and participating in community anti-drug events, people pledge to live a drug-free life and pay tribute to murdered DEA Special Agent Enriqué “Kiki” Camarena, who was killed in 1985 while undercover in Mexico.
