On Nov. 12, 2009, Adm. Stavridis met with top military leaders in Ljubljana in Slovenia to discuss NATO strategic concepts concerning the Slovenia. He spoke with Slovenian Minister of Defence Dr. Ljubica Jelusic and the Director General of Directorate of Defense Policy, Brigadier David Humar. On Nov. 13, 2009, the admiral was welcomed with an honor guard ceremony at the Joint Forces Command Headquarters in Vrhinka. There he was briefed on the operations of the Slovenia armed forces.
