181017-N-MC499-0028 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Oct. 17, 2018) Sailors signal a landing craft utility as it approaches the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) during the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 4 composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is the final pre-deployment exercise that certifies the combined Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group's and 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit's abilities to conduct military operations at sea and project power ashore through joint planning and execution of challenging and realistic training scenarios.
