ABILENE, Kansas (Oct. 13, 2018) – Chief Personnel Specialist Ralph Long, assigned to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), receives the President Eisenhower Leadership Award, from Kyle Campbell, Eisenhower Foundation board member, as Ike commanding officer Capt. Kyle Higgins looks on during the Eisenhower Legacy Gala dinner at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library. Long, along with General Eisenhower Leadership Award winner Lt. Blake Harpel, were invited to join the Eisenhower Foundation in Dwight D. Eisenhower's hometown of Abilene, Kansas, in celebration of their accomplishments. The awards recognize their leadership and contributions to their communities, both on ship and ashore. The weekend also involved a visit to Dwight D.
