ABILENE, Kansas (Oct. 12, 2018) – Chief Personnel Specialist Ralph Long, assigned to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), talks to students at Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary School about life aboard an aircraft carrier. Long and Lt. Blake Harpel are, respectively, the President Eisenhower and General Eisenhower leadership award winners for 2018. The awards recognize their leadership and contributions to their communities, both on ship and ashore. The Sailors were invited to join the Eisenhower Foundation in Dwight D. Eisenhower's hometown of Abilene, Kansas, in celebration of their accomplishments. The weekend also involved a visit to Dwight D.
