Retired U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Ramona Cook, protocol officer, Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Installation West, addresses the attendees of the 2018 “Hunger for Strength” symposium at the Unit Event Center, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Oct. 11, 2018. The symposium provided the opportunity to enhance the leadership abilities and provide mentorship opportunities for all Marines in attendance. Cook was the keynote speaker for the symposium, and the event was sponsored by the Women’s Marine’s Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9934, United Service Organizations, and the Armor of Light organization. The symposium first started last year and is scheduled to recur annually with more opportunities to improve mental fitness, build resiliency, and unit effectiveness for all Marines.
