The 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron fire department provides word-class fire and emergency service to al Udeid Air Base where they protect lives and properties from all hazards. In addition, they also provide premier fire and emergency services and host a robust fire prevention and education program. The fire department consists of enlisted personnel from active duty, Air National Guard and Reserve units. Its structure mirrors most fire departments to include a fire chief, deputy fire chief, training chief, fire prevention and inspection division, and emergency communications center crew chiefs. During National Fire Prevention Week, the department hosts an Open House, conducts installation-wide fire prevention demonstrations and travels to the American School of Doha to teach school children the importance of fire safety.
