Pictured is one of the buildings that were not destroyed when a tornado ripped through the Canadian Recreation Area at Canton Lake, Okla., the afternoon of May 24. This photo was taken Oct. 17, 2011. Volunteers have saved the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers thousands by helping clear away the debris left by the tornado. The volunteers were recognized with the Commander’s Award for Public Service and the Army Certificate of Appreciation.
