On October 2nd and 3rd, Buffalo District regulators attended a stream assessment method training hosted by the North Atlantic Aquatic Connectivity Collaborative in Utica, NY. The methodology is helpful to understand the aquatic life connectivity of culvert and bridge crossings in streams, and how they may be improved. Regulators in these photographs include Bridget Brown, Aaron C. Smith, and Joseph Rowley. Lesta Ammons, who also attended the training took the photographs.
Aquatic life connectivity is a requirement of Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permits.
The training also gave us the opportunity to connect with our partners: Federal Highway Administration and New York State Department of Transportation
