Bishop, a native of Crown Point, Indiana, is a radio operator with 1st Brigade, 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, III MEF. Opposing forces, consisting of Marines from 5th ANGLICO and components of the New Zealand Army, wielded various weapons during Phantom Major, a training event which challenged upcoming infantry platoon commanders to lead fellow New Zealand Army soldiers.
