Recruits with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, and Oscar Company, 4th Battalion, receive remedial swim classes on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. Oct. 3, 2018. To ensure they meet Marine Corps swim qualification standards, recruits are tested on their ability to swim 25 meters in shallow water, conduct self-rescue, employ flotation, tread water for four minutes, and shed gear underwater.
