U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Troy Harris, a member of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Southern Command’s psychological operations team, awards a participant of the Semillas de Esperenza Special Needs School for superior performance during the Special Needs Olympics here, September 28. To build a strong relationship with our partner nation’s military and community, SPMAGTF-SC helped Guatemalan Army First Brigade host the event allowing students to compete amongst themselves and the Marines and Guatemalan soldiers. The Marines and Sailors of SPMAGTF-SC are conducting security cooperation training and engineering projects alongside partner nation military forces in Central and South America. The unit is also on standby to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of a hurricane or other emergency in the region. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Jona Meme)
