Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Force Reconnaissance Platoon instructs Marines and Sailors on detainee operations during Visit, Board, Search and Seizure training aboard the USS Ashland (LSD-48), off the coast of Okinawa, Japan Aug. 31, 2018. During the training, the 31st MEU’s FRP shared VBSS tactics and techniques with the Ashland’s VBSS team. The 31st MEU partners with the Navy’s Amphibious Squadron 11 to form the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, a cohesive blue-green team capable of accomplishing a variety of missions across the Indo-Pacific region.
