Soldiers from the 20th CBRNE Command’s nuclear disablement team 2, out of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., and the command’s hazard response platoon, 51st Chemical Company, out of Fort Stewart Ga., made up the ground collection team of the national technical nuclear forensic (NTNF) ground collection task force (GCTF) as part of Exercise Prominent Hunt. Ground collection team members collect and package debris during Exercise Prominent Hunt, which took place near Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colo., Sept. 17-21, 2018. Ground collection team members are responsible for collecting debris after a nuclear detonation so it can be processed by the Department of Energy before it is transported to a national laboratory for further analysis.
