Soldiers with 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood, Texas, move in a tactical formation to provide reinforcement for the Slovakian Army during a simulated attack exercise at the Lest Military Training Area in Lest, Slovakia, Sept. 26.
The scenario-based training was designed to reinforce the unit’s ability to respond to a simulated event in real time with challenging and variable conditions, and create cohesiveness with the Slovakian forces.
The exercise was part of Slovak Shield 2018 in support of USAREUR's larger mission, Operation Atlantic Resolve and to improve interoperability, strengthen relationships and trust among allied armies, contribute to regional stability, and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
