The Missouri Air National Guard's 239th Combat Communications Squadron provided communications, power production and lodging support to Exercise Northern Lightning at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center, Wisconsin August 08-24. The 239CCS provided a communications link between a distant Air Control Squadron radar site and the local control facility to enable command and control of more than 60 participating United States Air Force and Marine Corps aircraft during the exercise.
