Bruce Richard, the Light Armored Reconnaissance Platoon platoon sergeant with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, watches a Light Armored Vehicle crew reload during gunnery training atop the flight deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), underway in the South China Sea, Sept. 24, 2018. During the training, the Marines staged LAVs atop the Wasp’s flight deck to refine their gunnery capabilities to act as ship security.
