    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

Seaman Trevor Brumley, left, hands ammunition to Lance Cpl. William Daniels during gunnery training aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), underway in the South China Sea, Sept. 24, 2018. Brumley is a hospital corpsman and Daniels is a Light Armored Vehicle crewman, both with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines. During the training, the Marines staged LAVs atop the Wasp’s flight deck to refine their gunnery capabilities to act as ship security. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide-range of military operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
