    II Marine Expeditionary Force

    Staff Sgt. Joshua N. Whatley, an infantry unit leader with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, patrols through a cornfield in Nawa district, Helmand province. The Marines and Afghan Uniformed Police conduct regular partnered patrols in the area to maintain a security presence.
