The U.S. Army Center of Military History hosted a series of staff rides during the Victory Over There World War I centennial commemorations in the Meuse-Argonne area of rural France, Sept. 20, 2018. Each of three different rides followed the movements of a different American Expeditionary Force Corps, and the ride participants are members of various descendant units of today's U.S. Army Reserve. Pictures here are from the I Corps route in the vicinity of the Argonne forest, and include German trenches, the bunker of Prince Wilhem, a massive mine crater made by French forces, and the Pennsylvania War Monument at Varennes.
