Maj. Gen. David G. Perkins, commanding general, 4th Infantry Division, addresses distinguished visitors and guests during the division’s color casing ceremony, Oct. 20, 2011 at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Iraq. The “Ivy Division” took control of USD-N from the 3rd Infantry Division last November and have spent the last year overseeing installation transitions the advise-train-assist missions in northern Iraq. Marking the completion of their mission, the division will return to their home station at Fort Carson, Colo. Perkins acted as the commanding general for United States Division-North since November of last year.
