Lance Cpl. Jordan Dugard, a machine gunner with Company G, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, stands ready atop a Landing Craft, Air Cushion hovercraft for a beach assault during training inside the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 2, 2018. Dugard, a native of Pueblo, Colorado, graduated from Pueblo West High School in May 2015 before enlisting the following month. Marines with Company G, part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Ground Combat Element, train for sea-based amphibious operations using small inflatable boats, called Combat Rubber Raiding Craft.
