Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and U.S. Army Col. James Tuite IV, regimental commander, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the gravesite of U.S. Army Gen. John M. Shalikashvili in Section 30 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Sept. 19, 2018. Shalikashvili was the first foreign-born soldier to become the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, serving under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997. His father, Dimitri Shalikashvili, was an aristocratic Georgian nationalist and served as a lieutenant colonel in the army of the Democratic Republic of Georgia. Gen.
