180916-N-RU084-253 NORFOLK (Sept. 16, 2018) Electronics Technician 3rd Class Mark Laoagan, assigned to Coastal Riverine Squadron 10, operates the forward-looking infrared (FLIR) camera and the 34ft Sea Ark Patrol Boat’s navigation system during a rendezvous with aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) as part of a high-value escort mission conducted in support of the return of the nearly 30 ships the U.S. Navy sortied ahead of Hurricane Florence. In addition to providing a core capability to defend designated high-value assets throughout the green and blue-water environment, members of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command’s Coastal Riverine Force conduct missions as part of embarked security teams, aircraft security teams, port and maritime infrastructure security, and landside security.
