180915-N-SB299-1101 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 15, 2018) Vice Adm. Richard Brown, Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP), provides an update of the Surface Force to Senior Executive Service (SES) leaders. Brown made the remarks during Advanced Professional Executives Program (APEX) 47, which is designed to provide newly appointed executives with both a practical and theoretical understanding of the structure and processes of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Combatant Commands, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the military departments. The two-week DoD-wide Executive development opportunity also helps new leaders gain an enterprise-wide perspective that encompasses expectations, opportunities and challenges currently facing our DoD leadership.
