OAK HARBOR, Wash. (Sept. 14, 2018) — Chief Aircrewman (Operator) Douglas Blynn, attached to Patrol Squadron (VP) 47, has his fouled anchors pinned on by his wife during the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island's (NASWI) chief petty officer (CPO) pinning ceremony. The ceremony marks the first iteration of Sailor 360 and the culmination of a six-week long intense training cycle that has been built off of almost two and a half centuries of naval heritage and 125 years of CPO tradition. VP-47 flies the P-8A Poseidon, the Navy's premiere long-range anti-submarine warfare platform. The "Golden Swordsmen" have recently finished Homeland Defense and Rim of the Pacific exercise and is in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
