Scott Air Force Base and Mid-America Airport hosted multiple C-17 Globemaster III aircraft that evacuated Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina in preparation for Hurricane Florence, Sept. 11, 2018. More than 1 million people were ordered to evacuate Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina as the East Coast braces itself for the Category 4 storm.
