180825-N-YJ378-0398 TRINCOMALEE, SRI LANKA (Aug. 25, 2018) Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Trevor Pace, trains Electronics Technician Seaman Cesar Juarez during a simulated visit, board, search and seizure exercise (VBSS) while deployed with San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23). , Anchorage is on a regularly scheduled deployment with the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Anchorage and the embarked Marines of the 13th MEU are conducting a theater security cooperation exercise with the Sri Lankan navy and marines. Part of a growing U.S.-Sri Lanka naval partnership, the exercise is also an opportunity for U.S. Seventh Fleet to explore local logistics support services for visiting naval forces operating throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
