180825-N-YJ378-0122 TRINCOMALEE, SRI LANKA (Aug. 25, 2018) Interior Communications Electrician 2nd Class Johnathon Holbrook, native of Sacramento, Calif., and member of the visit, board, search and seizure team (VBSS) aboard San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), climbs up a ladder during VBSS training with the Sri Lankan navy special boat squadron, during a regularly scheduled deployment of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Anchorage and the embarked Marines of the 13th MEU are conducting a theater security cooperation exercise with the Sri Lankan navy and marines. Part of a growing U.S.-Sri Lanka naval partnership, the exercise is also an opportunity for U.S. Seventh Fleet to explore local logistics support services for visiting naval forces operating throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
