Col. Paul Calvert, left, commander of 2nd “Dagger” Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, United States Division – Center and an Athens, Ga., native, congratulates Maj. Michael Bentley, a Stability Transition Team member attached to the Dagger Brigade, after presenting him with a Bronze Star Medal for his efforts as an intelligence adviser to the Iraqi Security Forces during the brigade’s deployment in support of Operation New Dawn, Oct. 2 at Camp Liberty, Iraq. STTs consisted of field grade officers who lived and worked directly with their ISF counterparts, providing knowledge and experience which will enable the ISF to more effectively provide security for Iraq’s citizens.
