180827-N-TI567-032 ASCUNCION, Paraguay – Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School command team, Cmdr. John T. Green and Cmd. Master Chief Jimmy Arevalo, visit students participating in a recent Diesel Systems Overhaul and Maintenance mobile training team engagement in Asuncion, Paraguay.
This particular mobile training iteration featured six officers and three enlisted security force professionals from the Paraguayan Navy. The two-week training utilized previous graduates from NAVSCIATTS’ in-resident DSOM courses as instructor cadre.
NAVSCIATTS’ MTTs deploy in support of Geographic Combatant Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands and Naval Special Warfare Units’ partner nation in-country engagements. Prior NAVSCIATTS’ graduates are identified and perform as primary instructors in order to develop partner nation capability and subject matter expert status credibility.
The in-resident DSOM course is an eight-week course of instruction designed to provide selected international military and law enforcement personnel with the knowledge and skills required to maintain and repair diesel engines and twin disc transmissions.
NAVSCIATTS is a security cooperation schoolhouse operating under U.S. Special Operations Command in support of Foreign Security Assistance and Geographic Combatant Commanders’ Theater Security Cooperation priorities.
