Andrew Birkhoff, a firefighter with the San Francisco Fire Department, helps Lance Cpl. Neil Unzuete, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, use a circular saw to cut through cement, Oct. 7, 2011. Unzuete learned about techniques the fire department uses during urban search and rescue training. The training emphasized the importance for Marines to work with local emergency services in the event that an earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster occurs.
