An American light tank advances in support of the 42nd "Rainbow" Division during the Saint Mihiel Offensive, Sept. 12-16,1918 in this still from a 1918 Army Signal Corps film. The French-built Renault 17 tank was one of 144 American tanks which supported the 42nd Division attack.
