180830-N-QY316-0101 KANE’OHE BAY, HI (Aug. 30, 2018) USS Missouri Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Legacy Academy Class 019 member Chief (Select) Aviation Electronics Technician Christopher Guthrie participates in an obstacle course during a Fleet Marine Force (FMF) challenge. The challenge is based on the physical fitness and tactical proficiency FMF Corpsmen must have to embed with Marine platoons. The CPO Legacy Academy is a six-day course in which the chief petty officers and selectees live aboard The USS Battleship Missouri Memorial and participate in preservation activities, leadership training, reenact scenarios that took place aboard USS Missouri, and learn lessons about the history and heritage of the U.S. Navy and CPO community.
