Soldiers of Charlie Company, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 194th Armor, based out of Sauk Centre, Minn., stand in formation as they wait to receive their combat patches at a ceremony held at Camp Virginia, Kuwait Sept. 11, 2011. The ceremony was held on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to remember and honor those who lost their lives on that cataclysmic day and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice during the war on terror. Charlie Company has 139 soldiers and has spent over two months conducting convoy escort security in and out of Iraq during the drawdown of American forces – Operation New Dawn. As of October 1, 2011, Charlie Company has escorted close to 4,000 trucks while covering over 121,000 miles in the country.
