Seven candidates participating in the Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year competition with 2nd “Dagger” Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Infantry Division take off at the beginning of the two-mile run portion of the Army Physical Fitness Test Sept. 27 at Camp Liberty, Iraq. Three soldiers and four NCOs competed over two days in a wide range of warrior tasks, including an eight-mile foot march in full body armor, an APFT, a formal board, and a stress shoot range immediately after the foot march.
